What Happened to Crafter's Companion, and Where US Crafters Can Buy It Now (Updated October 2026)

Last updated October 21, 2026. We will keep this page current as the brand's situation changes.

Crafter's Companion is still trading. The UK company behind the brand went into administration on January 7, 2025 and was bought the same day by its founder, Sara Davies, with investment partners. Through late 2025 the brand moved its US stock into new warehouses, which caused gaps and delays for US customers. Crafty Granny stocked the brand through all of it, and we carry more than 2,000 Crafter's Companion products in North Las Vegas today, shipping anywhere in the US.

The timeline, with sources

• January 7, 2025: Crafter's Companion's directors placed the company into administration after an expansion strategy left it short of working capital. The same day, administrators from Interpath sold the business to entities owned by Sara Davies and Modella Capital. 134 jobs transferred; the Chesterfield store was excluded from the sale and closed. Sources: Interpath, Crafter's Companion press release, Retail Gazette.
• August 14, 2025: The company announced a new US warehouse and leadership changes. Sara Davies handed day-to-day management to a managing director and increased her own investment alongside a new investor. Source: Crafter's Companion company update.
• August 22 to September 12, 2025: The US website switched to a limited product selection while stock moved. Orders placed from August 22 did not ship until September 12.
• October to December 2025: The company said its full US range was back and that it had made progress on 2026 stock supply, with US stock spread across three warehouses.
• 2026: The US website is live and taking orders. Searches for whether the brand is closing have kept rising this year, which is why we wrote this page. As of today, nothing from the company says it is closing.

What this means if you buy Crafter's Companion in the US

• The products are still being made. New Sara Signature, Nature's Garden and seasonal collections have continued to release through 2025 and 2026, and we receive them at Crafty Granny.
• Supply has been uneven. During the warehouse moves, some lines were out of stock at the brand for weeks. A specialist retailer with its own inventory, like us, often had items the brand's site did not.
• Your dies, folders and Gemini machines are not affected. They work exactly as before, and they cut in Gemini, Sizzix Big Shot and Spellbinders machines. For machine warranties or Club Inspire membership questions, contact the brand directly.

Frequently asked questions

Is Crafter's Companion closing down?

No announcement says so. The company was rescued from administration in January 2025 and has published updates on new warehouses and 2026 stock since then. We will update this page if that changes.

Why were so many Crafter's Companion products out of stock in 2025?

The brand moved its US inventory into new warehouses between August and December 2025 and ran a limited product range online during the move. Stock at independent retailers like Crafty Granny was not affected in the same way.

Does Crafty Granny stock the new 2026 releases?

Yes. We receive new collections on a rolling basis and add them to the Crafter's Companion collection as they arrive. Call 702-551-7704 to ask about a specific release.

Do Crafter's Companion dies work with other machines?

Yes. The dies and embossing folders cut in standard roller machines including Gemini, Sizzix Big Shot and Spellbinders. 3D embossing folders need a deeper plate stack.

Can I buy in person?

Yes. Visit us at 4385 N Pecos Rd Ste 160, North Las Vegas. We are open Tuesday to Saturday 9am to 5pm and Sunday 9am to 2pm, closed Monday.
